This beach is one of the best in the okanagan. It's a private beach that is open to the public. It has rental properties on site, with a restaurant. It has camping sites and stores near by. This beach is located on the south side of the city near the airport. Because it is private there are no police or anyone to bother you. The only downfall with this beach is the sand which is a little rocky.

Was great. Had friendly staff and service was spot on. Only reason it isn't 5 Stars is because some stuff was outdated

I've been visiting this resort since it went by it's previous name Happy Hour Campground starting about 17 years ago. Sure at that time we were young and it was a party place. Happy Hour closed its doors and about 2 or 3 years later they re-opened as Barefoot Beach Resort, with Yurts to rent, Mobile home area and lush green (not any more) grass tenting areas. Every year they continued to improve the property implementing new rules to make it more family friendly and to help keep the place from being destroyed. This year they had implemented new rules banning smoking strictly to designated area's which is great. As we have been going up with families and young children to enjoy Skaha Lake and Penticton itself. The bathrooms are a disaster!! and that is still an understatement. Most of the toilets wouldn't flush therefore just sat there with human waste sitting in the bowls. There wasn't ANY Hot water. The bathroom sinks had a trickle of water when you used the taps to wash your hands. One of the shower stalls had it's"Coin box" ripped off the wall and all that was there were loose wires sitting in a wet environment (definitely not meeting Building Code Safety), and it wasn't as if it had just happened and they hadn't gotten a chance to fix it, it was like the whole time I was there and obvious that it had been like that for a while. There was copious amounts of blood on the floor of one of the stalls. This is just the men's washroom, my wife told me the women's washroom was equally as disgusting. Toilets didn't work, no toilet paper, shower's didn't work, no hot water, and just dirty. There is a strict no smoking policy and quiet time between 11pm to 11am. None of these were enforced as people were partying well beyond 4am, and smoking where ever they wanted. What is the point in having the rules if you're not going to enforce them. Barefoot was wanting to make their resort a family environment and this is not a family environment. I would not recommend anyone go there with young children. If you're going to advertise your business with these rules and basically market yourself as a family environment then that is what the customers expect. If you're not going to do that then that is completely fine, people will have an understanding of what to expect. There wasn't any proper security. The resort decided to rent out part of the beach for a wedding, but they didn't plan anything out correctly. They blocked people off from getting to the washrooms and getting back to the resort. The only way to get out was to walk down the beach about a kilometer and then walk back on the shoulder of the highway, super safe. That being said I knew about that because I've been coming to this place for so long. There wasn't any signs posted informing people who weren't part of the wedding of how long the area was going to be closed for or how to get back to the resort if you were on the other side. People all of sudden just put up barriers on either side where the wedding was taking place. The only sign was a letter size piece of paper that was tapped to the barrier fence saying something similar to private party and that is it, no time frame or anything. Now you have young children who have been separated from their parents who needed to use the washroom and no way to do that. After these issued had been mentioned to management staff, as they occurred, they increasingly got more jaded and angry. They started swearing at us for asking them to enforce the non-smoking rules as people were smoking right beside us and it's affecting the children around us. The "VP", I believe his name was Tony, there told us that all we did is complain and if we didn't like it we should leave. So we left the next morning, a few other families we were with decided they were going to stay and tough it out. They were yelled at a verbally assaulted that afternoon/evening by the same person, Tony. Barefoot, all of your hard work on that property has been tossed out the door. This place is a dump and NOT Family friendly

What an awesome place. What the new owners have done to make this place beautiful is awesome!!! We are definitely coming back and maybe even stay the summers in our RV in the future. They also own part of a spectacular beach which is just minutes away!!

If I could give a 0 star review I would. I have come to Barefoot beach all my life. Never had a problem and always had a good time. This year has been a complete nightmare and will not go back here again. Even if I wanted to come back I wouldn't be able to because me and family have been blacklisted because we had questioned the management one too many times. Too many people smoking on the camping ground while there are designated areas for smoking. We had questioned why they had not been reinforcing their own policies and the Vice President, Tony, was VERY rude to us. Not only did he curse at us while we were calmly sitting at our site, he had made two 11 year old girls cry. Kicked us out for telling him how to run his business, which we did not. We had a few people allergic to smoke and all they did was bring up the wedding fiasco. Poor management and possibly the worst customer service I have ever seen in my entire life. But you know what, good luck trying to find as loyal customers as we were because we had spent money on this resort for so almost 20 years. (Even before the big renovations)
